A MALAYSIAN man who arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday morning was later discovered dead on the Trung Luong Expressway in Dong Thap Province, with no vehicles in the immediate vicinity, authorities reported.

VnExpress reported that the body, later identified as Aeron Lee Khei Chen, was spotted by motorists around 1 p.m. as they drove from Ho Chi Minh City towards the Mekong Delta.

Witnesses saw the man lying near the median strip in My Loi Commune and swerved into another lane to avoid hitting him before alerting local police.

He was dressed in trousers and a black long-sleeved T-shirt, sustained multiple injuries to his head and face, and was missing one white sneaker, according to investigators.

Traffic on the expressway slowed as police examined the scene, briefly causing congestion.

Police are currently reviewing footage from nearby cameras to gather further information on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
