LONDON – United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken has rejected claims that the US is entering into a cold war with China, reported the Financial Times, as quoted by Xinhua news agency.
During a visit here, the US top diplomat said he resisted “putting labels on most relationships, including this one, because it’s complex”, referring to US-China relations.
According to the report on Wednesday, Blinken said the US recognised that countries have complicated relationships, including with China, and that his country does not believe other countries’ economic relationships with Beijing “need to be cut off or ended”.
He said the US administration is pursuing the right strategy by saying Washington does not want a cold war and countries to pick sides, it added. – Bernama, May 7, 2021
