Maxis has trained over 2,400 entrepreneurs under eKelas Usahawan

KUALA LUMPUR – Maxis Bhd community outreach programme “eKelas Usahawan” has trained over 2,400 local entrepreneurs since its launch in March 2021.

In a statement today, Maxis informed the programme was delivered both physically and virtually nationwide via 39 workshops with all-around positive feedback from participants.

It said the programme received strong interest from micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly women entrepreneurs, in adopting digitalisation for their businesses.

“In facilitating dedicated workshops, eKelas Usahawan will continue to collaborate with various parties to assist more entrepreneurs and MSMEs to apply basic digital marketing knowledge and tools to their respective businesses,” it said.

The programme, which is part of Maxis’ social responsibility to support B40 communities through greater digital adoption, comprises a series of digital marketing workshops to equip entrepreneurs with basic digital marketing knowledge and skills.

Maxis chief corporate affairs officer Mariam Bevi Batcha in the same statement said the company is looking forward to scaling up the programme next year to ensure more entrepreneurs reap the benefits of digitalisation quickly.

“We have very simple yet effective modules that cover tips and basic skills on marketing, digital photography, copywriting and planning for marketing and advertising campaigns via online and social media platforms,” she said.

Meanwhile, a participant from Penang, Noraini Azlan Azmi, opined that the digital workshop is beneficial for entrepreneurs in learning how to market and advertise their products to attract more customers.

Azliza Rumainor and Norul Suziyana Sulong, participants from Kelantan and Terengganu respectively, both said they gained knowledge on digitalisation skills, as well as online advertising and positioning their business on social media.
