ACTOR Datuk Rosyam Nor, who was a presenter at last night’s Anugerah Meletop Era 2021 (AME2021), received strong criticisms from netizens for insensitive remarks towards co-presenter Shuib, who lost his wife in August of last year.

Singer Siti Sarah Raissuddin, died of complications from Covid-19. She was eight months pregnant at the time.

Rosyam, whose real name is Mohamed Noor Shamsuddin, took the stage alongside Shuib to present an award. Rosyam caused an unpleasant situation when he jokingly asked Shuib, real name Shahmira Muhammad, about his widower status.

Rosyam asked Shuib live on national television, “You are the hottest widower right now. It's been eight months, isn't there a replacement?”

After frequent questions about his status as a widower, including being asked to 'move on' and find a new wife, Shuib spontaneously said: “What are you doing? Do you think you’re a gangster?”

However, perhaps to ease tensions, Shuib said that he was just playing around on stage.

Misha Omar performed a tribute for Siti Sarah:
