ACTOR Datuk Rosyam Nor, who was a presenter at last night’s Anugerah Meletop Era 2021 (AME2021), received strong criticisms from netizens for insensitive remarks towards co-presenter Shuib, who lost his wife in August of last year.
Singer Siti Sarah Raissuddin, died of complications from Covid-19. She was eight months pregnant at the time.
Rosyam, whose real name is Mohamed Noor Shamsuddin, took the stage alongside Shuib to present an award. Rosyam caused an unpleasant situation when he jokingly asked Shuib, real name Shahmira Muhammad, about his widower status.
Rosyam asked Shuib live on national television, “You are the hottest widower right now. It's been eight months, isn't there a replacement?”
Just when I thought we are getting better, Rosyam Nor asks Shuib on national TV "kau duda terhangat sekarang. Dah 8 bulan ni kan, ada pengganti?"

Shuib looks really uneasy but handles it professionally, but Rosyam Nor keeps on pushing for an answer. ?♂️ #AME2021
I said this once and I'll say this again. Can everyone please leave Shuib alone and stop asking him when he's gonna have a new wife??? 10 months or even 10 years will never be enough to recover from a loved one's loss, lagi lagi isteri. #AME2021

After frequent questions about his status as a widower, including being asked to 'move on' and find a new wife, Shuib spontaneously said: “What are you doing? Do you think you’re a gangster?”
However, perhaps to ease tensions, Shuib said that he was just playing around on stage.
Misha Omar performed a tribute for Siti Sarah:
Shuib's personal life, with his four children, has often been a subject of discussion, following the death of his wife Siti Sarah on August 9 last year due to a Covid-19 infection. – The Vibes, May 30, 2022
