SEARCH comprising Amy, Nasir, Hillary Ang and Man Kidal rocked Zepp Kuala Lumpur (Zepp KL) – a series of historic concerts called Konsert Endemik. Held over two nights, this past weekend, it was one of the largest concerts ever organised by Search.
As the first artist to make a solo concert at Zepp KL, and also among the first to hold a large-scale concert during the endemic phase of the pandemic, Search made history with a concert that was in the planning stages since last year.
With a repertoire consisting of a combination of their latest singles, namely Endemic I and Endemic II, and songs that are known by hardcore Search fans that have given the band such fame in the country and the region, such as such as Isabella, Fantasia Bulan Madu, Rozana, Meniti Titian Usang, Pawana and Isi Atau Kulit.
Search also included songs that are rarely performed live such as Nigina and Diari Habil and Qabil – evoking the nostalgia of the fans who filled Zepp KL.
Rizal Kamal, Chief Executive Officer, LOL Asia (event organiser), said, “I believe Search’s status as the number one rock group in Malaysia, world-class facilities at Zepp KL as well as a strong behind-the-scenes workforce and support system are key factors for the Konsert Endemik.
“With an iconic line-up consisting of Malaysian rock music icons Amy, Nasir, Hillary and Man Kidal, Search was also accompanied by Genervie and Arthur Kam (drums) – recognised as among the best session artists in Malaysia.
“The pair of siblings are indeed pursued by artists from all over the world for their skills in the field of play and musical direction.
“Technically, we have invited local and international experts such as Akira Yamauchi – a well-known sound engineer, to ensure the sound quality of the Konsert Endemik on both nights was at the highest level.”
Amy, the lead vocalist of Search, said: “We believe that this Konsert Endemik has succeeded in becoming a benchmark for the organisation of endemic phase concerts in Malaysia and the region.
“InsyaAllah, we will bring the Konsert Endemik all over Malaysia and maybe even abroad. On behalf of Search, I would like to thank all those involved, especially the Search fans who have supported our journey since from the beginning until now.” – The Vibes, June 6, 2022
