KUALA LUMPUR – Former youth and sports minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has gone into business with AirAsia Bhd’s food and beverage arm, Santan.

Based on his tweet last night, Syed Saddiq is now a business partner of Santan 163 Retail Park.

“My first business journey! Say hi to Santan 163 Retail park! Alhamdulillah, today I have become their business partner,” he tweeted.

“I am also planning to launch the #SADDIQsapotLOKAL campaign to become a business partner for other SMEs out there. The focus would be job and business opportunities for youth.”

Syed Saddiq, who is also Muar MP, garnered much support after his announcement, with many congratulating him over his business venture and campaign, while others have even invited him to invest in their businesses.

“Congratulations YB. We also started a new business for traditional kuihs. Support us too, you can check out our Instagram @kuehguru,” Twitter user @SaifulAzzri said.

According to Santan’s website, some of the menu items include Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak Beef Rendang and Uncle Chin’s Chicken Rice.

Previously known as AirAsia Cafe, Santan was introduced in 2015 with a flagship outlet in Mid Valley Megamall here. So far, there are seven outlets in the Klang Valley, including Syed Saddiq’s. – The Vibes, December 16, 2020
