SABAH Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has accused former ally - Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin of being out of touch with the latest achievements by his administration.

In an apparent attack against the Umno leader, Hajiji said the outspoken Kinabatangan MP has been living in an “imaginary world” to speak about his administration’s success.

“I believe Bung lives in an imaginary world and is outdated. He might be out of touch with the present realities and what we have done for the people,” said the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah chairman after handing out goodies to health personnel in Kota Kinabalu today.

Bung had recently characterised all of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, particularly Hajiji, as “all talk but no action”.

He said the leaders of the ruling Sabah alliance had been going around spreading too many feel-good stories such as announcing a surplus budget, surging investments, and other initiatives.

The Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman claimed the people of Sabah were questioning why they were still facing difficulties like poor water supply, frequent power failures, and deteriorating road conditions.

Hajiji had earlier announced several initiatives to deal with these problems, but many are still in the planning stages.

Both Sabah BN and GRS were partners in the government, but Sabah BN withdrew their support for the GRS leader during a political crisis which hit the state on January 20 last year.

However, a couple of Umno leaders decided to go against the party and were later retained or appointed to the Sabah cabinet.

Hajiji was able to retain power due to the Umno leaders and the fact that Sabah Pakatan Harapan also realigned itself with GRS from the opposition and therefore, retained GRS in power until today.

Since the crisis, both Bung and Hajiji have been at loggerheads. – The Vibes, April 4, 2024
