FOUR wives and three children of top Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) executives were among seven people remanded for a week to assist with investigations, reported Sinar Harian.
The Malay daily reported that an Australian was also among the six women and men aged between 18 to 55 years old brought to Shah Alam Magistrate Court under heavy police protection around 9.30am.
To date, police have detained more than 300 individuals in their investigation of 20 raided care homes linked to GISB since Sept 11.
Police also rescued 572 children in the operation codenamed Ops Global.
Recently, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Hussain said police had proposed search and seizure action related to GISBH premises in Sabah and Sarawak after finding that these premises were no longer in operation.
He said police will provide full assistance to related agencies through existing laws and provisions in the two states for the search action.
“PDRM has held a meeting with government agencies involved in the GISBH investigation to examine the current situation of the operation of premises related to the organisation in Sabah and Sarawak.
“Although it has been detected that these premises are not in operation, PDRM will continue monitoring to ensure individuals involved are identified and brought to justice,” he said.
The meeting was attended by the Malaysian Ministry of Health, Social Welfare Department, Malaysian Islamic Development Department, Department of Chemistry Malaysia and National Registration Department. - September 28, 2024
