A LOCAL man known as Man Tiger was arrested while police are searching for seven others for their alleged involvement in an incident where six shots were fired in front of a house in Kampung Bukit Batu Machap, Simpang Renggam in Kluang, yesterday.

According to Sinar Harian, Kluang Police Chief, Bahrin Mohd Noh, said that a report on the incident was received at 12:17 pm from a housewife.

While the 36-year-old woman was at home, she saw a Perodua Bezza car entering her yard.

During the incident, the victim and her husband were standing in front of their house when three men approached. One of the suspects took out a pistol, aimed it at the victim, and fired four shots.

"They then fled and fired two more shots," he said in a statement.

According to Bahrin, the shots hit the front door frame of the house and a table in the garage area in front of the house, but did not injure anyone.

He added that Man Tiger was successfully apprehended at the Simpang Renggam trade center at 7 pm the same day.

The 32-year-old suspect, who is unemployed, has 27 previous cases, including 18 criminal cases and nine drug cases.

"Urine tests found that the suspect also tested positive for methamphetamine."

"It is believed that seven more suspects are still at large," he said.

The suspect has been remanded, and the case is being investigated for attempted murder and discharging a firearm.

"The case is being investigated under Section 3 of the Firearms Act 1971 (Enhanced Penalty) and Section 307 of the Penal Code," he said. – February 11, 2025
