TWO veterans in Penang's Pakatan Harapan (PH) bloc have made a comeback after the duo were included in the 2024/2026 committee lineup.
The revised line up now includes former state PKR secretary Datuk Abdul Malik Abul Kassim and former DAP state executive councillor Datuk Yeoh Soon Hin.
Both were dropped in the 2018 and 2023 state elections respectively after serving up to three consecutive terms.
Malik's comeback is rather impressive, as he has been on the sidelines for the past decade whereas Yeoh was appointed to two key roles for Penang.
The former Paya Terubong assemblyman is now the Penang Port Commission chairman as well as the Tourism Malaysia Board deputy chairman.
Former deputy chief minister II Dr P. Ramasamy was excluded from the lineup after he quit DAP in a huff to form a new political party called Urimai.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who gave up his state DAP chairmanship post last year after 25 - years at the helm, was retained as the Penang PH chairman.
Chow urged the new lineup to bear in mind the voter sentiments as they may be asked to lead the state PH leadership in the next general election.
Chow's deputies are Penang PKR liaison head Nurul Izzah Anwar, the eldest daughter of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Penang DAP chairman Steven Sim Chee Keong and Parti Amanah Nasional secretary - general Muhammad Faiz Fadzil.
The vice - chairpersons are Ramkarpal Singh Deo, Penang Amanah deputy head Dr Zaidi Zakaria and Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid.
The secretary is Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying.
Former Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is not listed in the state PH leadership lineup. - February 27, 2025.
