THE three Era FM radio hosts, who were involved in mocking the the Hindu religion in a video clip, came to Batu Caves temple yesterday to seek forgiveness from the Indian community for their actions.

Nabil Ahmad, Azad Jazmin, and Radin Amir Affendy wanted to express their regrets to Malaysia Council of Hindu Temples and Hindu Associations president Datuk Sivakumar Nadarajah.

“From our side, Datuk, we truly… we are sorry.

“I hope this video can make everybody, like, cool a bit lah,” Nabil said.

However, Sivakumar said the three should face the consequences of their actions, which ridiculed the Hindu community.

The video was uploaded on Instagram by Sivakumar.

Nabil explained that when the video clip was taken during an earlier event hosted by the radio station, the gathering shown in the clip was regarded as an internal matter.

"The issue ceased to be "internal" the moment it was posted on Era FM's official social media accounts.

"Based on your own values, you may think an apology is enough, but the issue you've created is unforgivable.

“On humanitarian grounds, we accept your apology, but action must be taken against you that will send a clear message to all," said Sivakumar.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said that six people, including the three radio presenters, are being investigated over the viral video which showed them mocking the kavadi ritual.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil also ordered the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission to conduct a thorough investigation. - March 6, 2025
