SARAWAK Customs uncovered 4.08 kg of drugs from a courier company in Miri.
The drugs were found in two packages labelled as tea bags, said state department director Norizan Yahya.
"The drugs were detected during a search in the courier office in Miri and were disguised as teabags.
"They were sent via courier from peninsula Malaysia to an unoccupied address in Miri," he said in a statement.
The case is being investigated as drug trafficking and the culprits behind the case are being tracked.
The drugs have street value of RM 130,560, he added.
Earlier this month on Apr 2, the police seized about 30kgs worth of drugs in a swoop in Miri.
A local man in his 20s was arrested in the raid in a housing area by anti-drugs enforcement officers.
Miri police said the case is being probed under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act for trafficking.
The drugs can be used by thousands of addicts. – April 29, 2025
