A TRAINEE pilot fell to his death from the 39th floor of an apartment in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur last night.

In the incident at 10.53pm, the 19-year-old man was found unconscious on the roof of a car parked in front of a nasi kandar restaurant in the block.

Cheras Police Chief, Aidil Bolhassan said the incident was reported by the public and investigations found that the victim had left the house recklessly and ran towards the stairs leading to the 39th floor.

"Closed circuit camera (CCTV) footage also showed the victim's presence and there were signs of broken windows, and his mobile phone was found at the location," he said in a statement today.

According to him, the medical team at the Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital (HCTM) confirmed the victim's death at 11.34pm and the body was sent to the same hospital for a post-mortem.

According to family members, the victim was quiet and did not have a girlfriend and showed no signs of depression.

"The victim also lived with a friend in the unit involved. They were housemates in the unit. We will record the housemate's statement this morning to assist further investigations," he said.

The case is classified as sudden death (SDR). – April 30, 2025
