PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will today officiate the closing ceremony of Program MADANI Rakyat (PMR) 2025 Sabah, bringing to an end the three-day federal outreach event at Dataran Majlis Perbandaran Tawau.

The Prime Minister is expected to mark the occasion with the official handover of the Tamu Desa Sabah Project, the presentation of the Sabah Entrepreneur Excellence Awards, and the launch of the MADANI Solar Programme.

He will be joined by Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, with both leaders scheduled to tour the exhibition grounds to observe the public services and initiatives provided by federal agencies throughout the programme, which began on Friday.

Also in attendance will be Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick, who has led the implementation of PMR 2025 Sabah under the theme, “Eradicating Poverty Through Entrepreneurship”.

Anwar is expected to depart the venue by 4.00 pm.

The final day offers a host of activities for the public, including the MADANI Entrepreneur Dropship and Agent Seminar, financial literacy talks under the title “Saving Money, Protecting Your Wallet”, and briefings on digital safety.

Visitors can also enjoy cultural showcases from the Tawau Ethnic Association, the finals of the PMR karaoke competition, and a lucky draw to wrap up the event.

Anwar Arrives in Sabah for One-Day Working Visit

In a latest development, Anwar arrived at Kota Kinabalu International Airport at 10.35 this morning aboard a special flight, beginning a one-day official visit to Sabah.

Anwar was welcomed on arrival by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and members of the state cabinet.

He is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Sabah Governor Tun Musa Aman at Istana Seri Kinabalu, before departing for Tawau in the afternoon.

At 2.00pm, the Prime Minister is expected to officiate the closing ceremony of the three-day MADANI Rakyat 2025 (PMR) state-level event at Dataran Majlis Perbandaran Tawau, which began on 9 May.

Following the ceremony, both Anwar and Hajiji are expected to conduct a walkabout at the event grounds to personally review services offered by federal agencies and departments participating in the PMR initiative. - May 11, 2025
