A WOMAN claimed that her mother was asked to return a refrigerator and rubber mat she received as aid from a political party after a house fire - all because she joined another party.

Taking to social media, the woman claimed that her mother received a call from the person from the political party who gave her the aid saying they wanted it back as she (the mother) was no longer part of their party.

She said that in October last year, their house caught fire due to a short circuit and the political party which learned of the incident provided the aid.

"However, later my mother joined another party and was recently appointed as a committee member and now the earlier party wants the refrigerator and rubber mat back.

"The person took a video of the aid presentation back then and now my mother plans to do the same if they show up to take back the aid.

"Is aid given based on the party you join?" she wrote.

However, she stressed that she is not blaming the political party concerned, but the individual.

"I believe this concerns the particular person who gave us the aid and not the political party itself," she said.

She said so far, they have not been contacted again by the political party to take the refrigerator back. - May 22, 2025
