THE decision by Pandan MP Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli to turn down an offer by Nurul Izzah Anwar to take up an appointed deputy presidency position in PKR must be respected.

Party Youth chief Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim said that Rafizi may have his own plans on how to strengthen the party.

“We respect Rafizi’s decision. But if he accepts Nurul Izzah’s offer, that could also work in favour of efforts to strengthen the party.

“Maybe Rafizi has another platform that he thinks is more suitable to continue helping the party,” he told Sinar Harian.

Previously, Rafizi revealed that he was offered the position in a recent meeting with the PKR elected Deputy President.

However, he stressed that he would continue to stick to his decision not to accept any offer of an appointed position in PKR.

Rafizi explained that the decision made was not a matter of position, but rather adhering to the principles of the struggle.

Therefore, he will continue to remain a PKR member because it is a responsibility, in addition to serving as a Member of Parliament and Head of the Pandan PKR Branch to fulfill the mandate given by the voters.

Muhammad Kamil added that Rafizi is a figure who has his own strengths and role in PKR.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Kamil explained that the power to appoint in the party is the President's right but discussions are still carried out internally. - June 3, 2025
