THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will file an application to forfeit the 60-storey Ilham Tower in the Kuala Lumpur High Court today.
Chief Commissioner, Tan Sri Azam Baki, said the tower linked to the late Tun Daim Zainuddin is the latest asset in the process of being forfeited by the MACC.
"We will carry out the process (of forfeiture) today and I can say, it will not be an easy process because there are many things that need to be done, and the documents (relating to the Ilham Tower) are also very thick," he said.
He also confirmed that, apart from Menara Ilham, several other assets will go through the same process soon.
Earlier this month, Menara Ilham was seized again by the MACC after the enforcement agency received permission from the Deputy Public Prosecutor to seize the building linked to Daim.
Ilham Tower, which features a four-star hotel, office suites, an art gallery, and retail spaces, is valued between RM1.5 billion and RM2 billion.
The original seizure last year, granted for a record 18 months, was linked to an ongoing investigation into a RM2.3 billion corporate transaction involving listed companies Renong Bhd and United Engineers Malaysia Bhd. – June 25, 2025
