THE Digital Grant for MADANI Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (GDPM) Fest 2025 was officially launched in Johor Bharu today by Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching, marking the beginning of a nationwide push to digitally empower healthcare-related SMEs and medical entrepreneurs.
The initiative, led by the Ministry of Communications and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), aims to ensure that healthcare-focused PMKS (micro, small and medium enterprises) are not left behind in the country’s digital transformation journey.
“This programme is part of the MADANI Government’s commitment to building a more efficient, inclusive and future-ready healthcare ecosystem,” said Teo.
GDPM Fest 2025 brings together key partners including the Ministry of Finance, Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), Malaysian Medical Association (MMA), Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society (MPS), telecommunications providers, and emerging healthcare technology firms.
The collaboration reflects what organisers describe as a vital alignment between public and private sectors to strengthen Malaysia’s healthcare system.
Highlights of the event included knowledge-sharing sessions on healthcare transformation assistance, demonstrations of future health technologies, and virtual reality experiences showcasing innovative digital tools.
In addition, MCMC is working with the Ministry of Health (MOH) to raise awareness of the Guideline on Online Healthcare Services (OHS), a regulatory framework to promote safe, ethical and accountable use of digital health platforms.
“Through localised outreach, we hope to bring future healthcare technology directly to community-level practitioners and businesses,” the commission said.
GDPM Fest 2025 will continue in Kuantan, Pahang on 17 August and in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on 24 August. Organisers hope the programme will support Malaysia’s wider goal of building a smarter, more efficient and inclusive healthcare environment for medical professionals, PMKS and the public. - August 10, 2025
