THE headmistress of the Kampung Baru Gedok Chinese National School (SJKC) in Tampin died after being found unconscious in her office today.

The 44-year-old female teacher is understood to have attended the school for the Entrepreneurs' Day celebration, but was found unconscious in her office after complaining of feeling unwell.

Tampin Member of Parliament, Datuk Mohd Isam Mohd Isa said he was supposed to be there to officiate the programme at 11am, but an hour earlier his officers informed him of the incident.

"I was told that before the deceased was found unconscious in the office, she complained to another teacher that she was not feeling well and wanted to rest in her room. He added that the deceased's husband also informed that she had no history of health problems.

"The deceased had only been working at the school for eight months and had previously worked at SJKC Air Kuning.

"As long as I knew the deceased, she was a dedicated teacher and was commited to her job. I offer my condolences to the deceased's family," he said.

Meanwhile, Tampin District Police Chief, Superintendent Amiruddien Sariman said they would issue a statement after the results of the autopsy report. - August 17, 2025
