A YEAR six male student alleged that he was nearly kidnapped while riding his bicycle near a school in Bukit Baru, Melaka.

According to sources, the incident occurred on August 15 when the 12-year-old victim claimed he was chased by a masked man in a white van while on his way home from a grocery store.

“At the time of the incident, the student was riding his bicycle alone before he was suddenly approached by a white van driven by a masked man.

"Luckily he managed to escape and immediately informed his parents before a police report was filed," said the source as reported by Kosmo!

It is understood that the victim lodged a police report regarding the incident at a nearby police station immediately after it occurred.

Melaka Tengah District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit, when contacted, confirmed they had received the report and that further investigations were underway. – August 23, 2025
