A COMMOTION broke out at Bersatu’s 8th annual general meeting in Shah Alam at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) in Shah Alam, when party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was delivering his keynote speech.

The chaos broke out in the middle of the hall, believed to involve dissatisfied party delegates.

It is learnt that a group was heard calling on Muhyiddin to step down after he revealed that some quarters were collecting signatures to oust him.

The situation forced the party's Armada Brigade to immediately intervene to calm the situation.

Although the incident only lasted a few minutes, it disrupted the president's policy speech which was highlighting the issue of internal unity and the future of Bersatu within the Perikatan Nasional (PN).

Muhyiddin, however, continued his speech after the situation was brought under control.

Later at a press conference, he said he was fully focused on the opening speech and was not sure what the incident was about.

"I'm not sure. Even though I was on stage, I had to focus on my speech.

"I'm not clear on what actually happened. The security personnel will get a full report on the matter," he said. - September 7, 2025
