A TENAGA Nasional Berhad (TNB) Kuala Selangor employee died after the high-powered motorcycle he was riding crashed into a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) at Kilometer 52 of Jalan Klang-Teluk Intan, Kuala Selangor, yesterday.
In the incident at 1.35 pm, the 45-year-old victim died at the scene.
Kuala Selangor District Police Chief, Superintendent Azaharudin Tajudin said the accident involved a Yamaha MT09 motorcycle and a Proton Exora.
“Investigations found that the MPV was driven by a 59-year-old woman from Kuala Selangor to Teluk Intan with her colleague, who was also a 56-year-old woman.
“Meanwhile, the motorcyclist had just finished attending a meeting in Sabak Bernam and was on his way back to work,” he said.
Azaharudin said that when the driver turned right to stop at a restaurant, the victim who was coming from the opposite direction did not have time to avoid and hit the MPV.
He said that as a result of the accident, the motorcyclist was thrown onto the left shoulder of the road and suffered serious injuries to his body and face.
“The victim was confirmed dead by Ministry of Health (MOH) staff while the driver and passenger of the MPV each suffered facial injuries.
“They were taken to Tanjong Karang Hospital for treatment. The body was taken to the Forensic Unit of the same hospital for a post-mortem,” he said.
Azaharudin said that the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
He urged the public who saw the incident to come forward and contact the Kuala Selangor District Police Headquarters (IPD) Operations Room at 03-32891222 or any nearby police station. - October 1, 2025
