SABAH's Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) is expected to hold a special meeting today to determine the position of five elected representatives who opted to remain with GRS in the coming state polls.

Party president Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said they were given a week to decide if they wanted to remain with Star and the period ends today.

Last week, the five elected representatives are deputy Star president Datuk Ellron Angin, Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman (Liawan), Datuk Robert Tawik (Bingkor), Datuk Flovia Ng (Tulid), and Datuk Abidin Madingkir (Paginatan).

"There are numerous individuals ready to take their places. Since we allocated those seats to them, we will naturally transfer them to the new candidates," said Jeffrey.

Meanwhile, in a statement, the five representatives reaffirmed their support for the leadership of Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

In a joint statement, they said they opted to support GRS to ensure political stability and continued development in the state.

"We stand firm in our decision to remain with GRS and to defend our seats under the GRS banner, as a mark of loyalty to the people’s mandate and for Sabah’s stability.

"We hope the people will continue to give us the mandate and trust to serve them,” they said. – October 8, 2025
