KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia recorded 1,594 new cases of Covid-19 and three deaths today, bringing the cumulative tally of infections to 106,690.
Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there are 1,181 recoveries, taking the number of those discharged to 85,592.
Three of the cases detected today were imported.
He said the current death toll is at 455.
Dr Noor Hisham added that 116 cases are under intensive care while 53 require breathing support.
Meanwhile, five new clusters have been detected.
Kuala Lumpur’s Jalan Gadang construction site cluster has a total of 13 cases after 375 screenings.
Menara Sri cluster (KL) has 14 cases, followed by Johor’s Bukit Pasir (9), Kelantan’s Pintu Geng (21) and Putrajaya’s Putra 15 (8).
Selangor, meanwhile, logged the most daily cases today at 697, followed by Kuala Lumpur (194), Johor (191), Negri Sembilan (160), Sabah (157), Penang (69), Perak (47), Kelantan (28), Kedah (12), Melaka (14), Pahang (11), Putrajaya (9), Terengganu (3), and Sarawak (2). – The Vibes, December 28, 2020
