AFTER being scolded by her family for returning home late, a woman fabricated a story alleging that she was raped and forced to have unnatural sex by an e-hailing driver.

Iskandar Puteri District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner M Kumarasan said the woman lodged a police report at 10.27am on Monday.

"The woman claimed that at 8.30pm on Sunday, she was raped and forced to have unnatural sex in the e-hailing driver's car in the Jalan Pulai Perdana area, Kangkar Pulai in Iskandar Puteri.

"The investigation found that the complainant had made a false report because she was scolded by her family for returning home late," he said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to Kumarasan, the unemployed woman's statement has been taken for further investigation.

Kumarasan reminded the public not to make false reports so police can help the real victims of crime who are in greater need.

"Making a false report is an offence under Section 182 of the Penal Code which is punishable by imprisonment for a period of six months or a fine of up to RM2,000 or both," he said. - November 25, 2025
