PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim chaired his first cabinet meeting after the swearing-in of new federal ministers and deputy ministers today.

This marks the official start of duties for the reshuffled Madani cabinet.

“The Madani cabinet carries the people's mandate and must act swiftly, make bold decisions and translate the voices and conscience of all segments of society into effective policies that are genuinely felt by the people,” said Anwar in a Facebook post.

The finance minister said the cabinet's priority is not merely to formulate policies, but ensure decisions are implemented swiftly, with integrity, and deliver tangible benefits to the public.

"Every cabinet member must work with high discipline and serve with humility, ensuring policies are implemented smoothly, and reach the people without delay and without excuses," he said.

Earlier today, seven ministers — including two new appointees — and eight deputy ministers were sworn in before His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, at Istana Negara.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Singgahsana Kecil at 10am. – December 17, 2025
