THE alleged murder of a woman, whose body was found in a bag in an empty house near Kampung Batu 4, Pedas, Rembau, last Thursday is believed to have stemmed from a dispute involving financial issues.

Negeri Sembilan Police Chief, Senior Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Idzam Jaafar said initial investigations found that the victim and the main suspect were believed to have been involved in an argument before the incident.

According to him, the conflict is said to have stemmed after the victim is believed to have asked the suspect for money, reported Sinar Harian.

"The main suspect who was arrested in Genting Sempah yesterday was just remanded this morning, and the interrogation process is still underway to identify the true motive behind the incident.

"However, initial investigations found that there was an argument between the victim and the suspect, believed to be related to the victim's request for money," he said when contacted, today.

He said the police were continuing their investigation from various angles to obtain a complete picture of the cause of the incident, including possible other motives.

The police had previously arrested two men in Melaka and Genting Sempah following the discovery of a woman's body in a bag and buried in an empty house in the area.

Meanwhile, the Ampang District Police had previously also requested the public's assistance in locating a woman, Suri Narudin, 53, who was reported missing since December 8, to assist in the investigation into the case. – December 20, 2025
