King holds strategic talks with UAE President in Abu Dhabi

HIS Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, paid a courtesy visit to the President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed Zayed Al Nahyan, yesterday, in a meeting aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and exploring strategic cooperation between Malaysia and the UAE.

In a statement, Sultan Ibrahim said the discussions laid the groundwork for a forward-looking and strategic partnership, while reinforcing mutual respect between the two nations.

“The meeting provides a platform to deepen cooperation across key areas including the economy, investment, and food security,” he said.

Sultan Ibrahim also highlighted defence collaboration as an area of shared interest, adding: “We also shared other matters, including looking at efforts to further enhance cooperation between Malaysia and the UAE in the field of defence,” according to a post on the official Facebook page of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.

The one-hour meeting took place at Qasr Al Bahr Palace in Abu Dhabi, as part of the Malaysian monarch’s special visit, which was conducted at the personal invitation of the UAE President. - December 24, 2025
