THE High Court ruled that Low Taek Jho, known as Jho Low and Datuk Seri Najib Razak had known each other with photographs of them vacationing together showed.

Judge Datuk Colin Sequerah had said there was no reason not to give weightage to the prosecution witnesses’ testimonies.

On claims that the funds were from an Arab donation, the judge said there was no verification done by Najib to ensure the funds originated from the family of King Abdullah.

"The accused anchored his belief to a wider circle of the royal family,” Sequerah says, noting that there is also no evidence that the funds were to be transmitted in instalments.

The assertion that the manner of the fund transfer "was entirely up to King Abdullah ... does not further the cause of the defence,” the judge said.

Sequerah also ruled that the Arab donation letters were fake, supported by testimonies of former AmBank relationship manager Joanna Yu Ging Ping as well as that of former 1MDB general counsel Jasmine Loo Ai Swan who had seen a draft copy of the written Arab donation letters in London on a computer screen at an overseas hotel. – December 26, 2025
