A HUSBAND and wife were found dead with serious injuries to their bodies in a house in Taman Mutiara, Jalan Brayun, Sri Aman, Kuching, today.

It is understood that the victim worked as a headmaster at a school in Lubok Antu, Sri Aman, while his wife was a nurse.

The bodies of the couple were said to have been found by their son, who noticed that the couple had not left the room.

Sarawak Police Commissioner, Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, said his party received information from the public regarding the discovery of the couple who were unconscious at 6.55 am.

He said a team of policemen from the Sri Aman District Police Headquarters (IPD), together with medical officers from Sri Aman Hospital, were immediately deployed to the scene upon receiving the information.

"Initial examinations confirmed that both victims, a 45-year-old man and his wife, 44, were dead at the scene.

"The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code," he said in a statement today.

Mohamad Zainal said the motive and cause of the incident were still being investigated, and efforts were underway to collect evidence and witness statements.

"The police are calling on the public who have any information regarding this incident to contact Investigating Officer Assistant Superintendent Kalang at 019-331 7785, or contact the Sri Aman IPD District Control Centre, or any nearby police station.

"The public's cooperation is very important to assist in the investigation and ensure that community safety continues to be maintained," he said. – January 14, 2026
