PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stressed that enforcement must be implemented comprehensively and continuously at all levels of administration to ensure the implementation of government policies is truly effective.

According to him, the matter was discussed at the Cabinet Meeting on Friday, including examining enforcement aspects at the Federal, state and local authority levels.

“We had a Cabinet meeting earlier and discussed enforcement and I know that several actions have been taken, but it is not easy to be satisfied, to ensure that they are implemented at every level,” he said.

He said this when met by reporters after performing Friday prayers at the QR Rahman Mosque, Taman Greenwood, on Friday.

Anwar said the government was aware that there were actions that had been and were being taken, especially at the lower levels involving aspects of cleanliness, implementation and enforcement.

"Only with a comprehensive approach can this country be improved. However, the truth is that damage often starts from the top, from the top level," he said.

In this regard, he stressed that the powers at the highest levels including agency heads, director generals, directors and all ministers should be monitored closely.

At the same time, serious attention also needs to be given at the lower levels involving the issue of stalls, the implementation of cleanliness, the entry of foreign workers who do not comply with regulations, violations of the law and the situation of foreigners working and receiving aid without following the established procedures.

Anwar said he had ordered that the actions announced a few days ago be continued until they truly have a positive impact not only on the people, but also on the country. – January 30, 2026
