HIS Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, today warned that there will be no compromise on corruption and reminded that more people are on his radar.
According to a statement issued, Sultan Ibrahim said that corruption is a betrayal of the trust given by the people, and it cannot be accepted at all.
He also reminded that efforts to eradicate corruption are not limited to certain departments, or only involve givers and recipients.
Sultan Ibrahim also cited several national enforcement agencies.
"Those in the Royal Malaysian Police, the Malaysian Immigration Department, the Royal Malaysian Customs Department and many others should also be careful.
"The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is also not spared.
"No matter what your rank is... So are the agents who act as middlemen in addition to being suppliers of various equipment, clothing and medicine... you are also on the radar," he said.
Sultan Ibrahim said that the relevant parties were reminded to be careful and not to think that His Majesty did not have any information regarding corruption.
He said that efforts to combat corruption should not be cosmetic or just rhetorical because no one can escape the law.
"As the saying goes, whoever eats chilli feels spicy (siapa makan cili, dia terasa pedas). Don't you all think I don't know anything.
"I also have my own intelligence," said Sultan Ibrahim.
At the same time, his Majesty said, if there are officers who fail to carry out their responsibilities with trust and integrity, then a change must be implemented without delay.
"I have other alternatives.
"If there are officers who are unable to carry out their trust honestly, allow those who are more qualified and cleaner to carry out that responsibility," said His Majesty.
