MALAYSIAN Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki has stressed that his party is not involved in the investigation into the alleged plot to overthrow the government.

When asked to comment on the matter, he stressed that he did not want to say anything regarding the issue as the investigation was being conducted by the police.

"MACC is not involved in investigating (the allegations), but I assure the Inspector-General of Police, whatever is required from us, we are ready to assist," he replied briefly at a press conference at the MACC Headquarters earlier.

Earlier, it was reported that the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) confirmed the investigation into the alleged attempt to overthrow the government and sabotage the stability of the country.

Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail, reportedly said that the investigation involved an influential local individual who allegedly had links to an international media agency. – March 4, 2026
