KUCHING – The public is reminded not to share on social media photos or videos of the tragedy in Sg Triso yesterday that saw nine people killed when the vehicle they were in plunged into the river from the jetty.

Sarawak Assistant Infrastructure and Ports Development Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi, in a statement today, said this is to show respect to the victims’ families.

He conveyed his condolences to the families.

He said Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri James Jemut Masing is scheduled to visit the scene of the incident later today, accompanied by senior officers from the state Public Works Department and Sarawak Rivers Board.

In the 3pm incident, the driver of four-wheel drive is said to have lost control of the vehicle, leading to it rolling into the river. – Bernama, January 2, 2021
