MORE than 50 masked individuals broke into an entertainment centre in Cheras and damaged property in an incident believed to have occurred at about 1.30 pm yesterday.

The karaoke is located in Taman Shamelin, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

The incident was detected in a 1.11-second video recording that went viral, showing the group, mostly dressed in black and armed, storming into the KTV area.

Based on the video recording, a lorry was seen crashing into the gate of the KTV and damaging it before a group of individuals entered.

So far, the motive for the incident has not been ascertained.

A team from the Cheras District Police Headquarters (IPD) is investigating whether it is related to revenge, disagreement or debt, but several pieces of equipment in the KTV premises were reported to have been damaged by the suspects.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Fadil Marsus, confirmed the incident after police received a report regarding it.

"The case is classified under Section 427 of the Penal Code and Section 148 of the same code.

"Currently, efforts are underway to track down the suspect," he said.

The recording also showed the group of suspects who invaded holding objects believed to be iron rods and wood. – April 6, 2026
