THREE individuals, including two women, have been arrested to assist in investigations into a viral incident in which a woman was attacked while inside her car during a live social media broadcast.

Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan said the incident is believed to have occurred at approximately 5.02pm on Saturday.

According to him, while the victim was seated in her car in front of a house in Bandar Laguna Merbok, a Toyota Vellfire carrying four individuals known to her approached the scene.

"Suspects acted by attacking the complainant, striking her face, head and body, causing injuries… the suspects then took two mobile phones and threw them onto the road, resulting in damage," he said when contacted.

Hanyan added that the motive for the attack remains under investigation, with two separate investigation papers opened.

He said three individuals have been detained to assist in the probe.

"We have detained a 30-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman to assist in the investigation… this case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code and Section 427 of the Penal Code.

"Another person detained is the complainant, a 28-year-old woman, and we are investigating her case under Section 448 of the Penal Code," he said.

The incident had earlier gained traction on social media, showing a woman being assaulted by another woman while she was livestreaming from inside her vehicle. - April 12, 2026
