THE investigation into shareholding allegations linked to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki has been completed, with a final decision now resting at the highest levels of government.

Unity Government spokesperson Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the matter has moved beyond the investigative stage, with subsequent action being handled administratively by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.

"As far as I understand, if this refers to the investigation into the shareholding allegations, the matter has already been concluded," he told reporters at NADI Kubang Semang in Bukit Mertajam on Saturday.

Fahmi added that the findings of a special investigative committee had been presented to the Cabinet, with the next course of action to be determined by the Chief Secretary.

"The next process is now being managed by the Chief Secretary to the Government.

"The final decision will be made based on what has been presented to the Cabinet," he said.

The government had previously established a special committee to examine the allegations involving Azam, which surfaced following reports by international media outlet Bloomberg. - April 25, 2026
