Government clinic appointment cards in Chinese: MOH probing matter (video)
The sharing gained attention after being reposted on the Threads platform - May 19, 2026

THE Ministry of Health (MOH) is investigating and will take action against the alleged use of Chinese writing on appointment cards at the Sri Rampai Health Clinic, Kuala Lumpur.

This follows a viral video on TikTok, in which a social media user uploaded a recording showing Chinese writing on a patient's appointment card at the clinic.

"Thank you for highlighting this issue. We are investigating and will take appropriate action," said the MOH briefly in a response on Threads @kementeriankesihatanmalaysia on Tuesday.

The sharing gained attention after being reposted on the Threads platform because the patient's appointment card, which is usually in Malay or English, was apparently printed in Mandarin.

The 1-minute 27-second video was initially uploaded to the TikTok platform by the owner of the account @shah.faza, who also claimed that health was an important issue and the matter was being politicised.

According to him, the Ministry of Health needs to take the matter seriously and not associate political sentiments with the delivery of services at government clinics. – May 19, 2026
