KUALA LUMPUR – Another motorcyclist has died in a pothole accident – this time, near The Curve in Mutiara Damansara.

The victim was a food delivery rider, and a video commentary on the crash has been widely shared on social media.

The one-minute, 29-second clip shows the victim covered with a white cloth, and the motorcycle lying on its side, on a road near the mall.

Details on the incident are still unclear, but an officer from the Petaling Jaya traffic division confirmed that the rider had hit a pothole, and an investigation will be conducted by district police.

The issue of potholes took social media and the news by storm after Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin fell off his bicycle after hitting one in Banting last month.

The quick response and apology from the Public Works Department raised the ire of social media users, who pointed out that similar complaints by regular citizens usually fall on deaf ears. – The Vibes, January 4, 2021
