SUV driver positive for drugs, enters opposite lane, crashes into four vehicles (video)

A urine test on the driver of the X70 was found to be positive for drugs and is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

THE driver of a Proton X70 sports utility vehicle (SUV) that drove into the opposite lane and crashed into four other vehicles on Jalan Sepadu Off Jalan Rantau Panjang here on Friday was confirmed to have tested positive for drugs.

North Klang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ramsay Embol, said the accident occurred at about 11.30 am.

According to him, the accident is believed to have occurred when the X70 driver, who is in his 30s, drove into the opposite lane and crashed into several vehicles parked on the left shoulder of the road, including a food truck that was doing business at the location involved.

"There were no injuries in this incident.

"All parties have come forward to lodge a police report except for the motorcyclist who left the scene of the incident," he said in a statement.

He said that a urine test on the driver of the X70 was found to be positive for drugs and is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

He said that this case is also being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving.

He urged anyone who has information regarding this accident to come forward to provide evidence to assist in the investigation.
