KOTA KINABALU – The Sabah government has decided that the services and working hours of state government departments will be fully operational from yesterday, with attendance of officers and staff members in offices at 100%.

State Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, who is also Sabah Covid-19 spokesman, said the directive was aimed at ensuring that the delivery of public services is always at a good and effective level.

“All civil servants are required to fully comply with the current regulations and standard operating procedures of the conditional movement control order to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the state,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He said on the Health Ministry’s advice and risk assessment, the National Security Council special session yesterday agreed to implement the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) in Kg Timbang Dayang, Kota Belud, from today to January 18.

“The EMCO is to facilitate field control and prevention actions, as well as to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 infection in the local community.

“As of December 31, 2020, the ministry has implemented 207 screenings, and out of that number, 24 positive cases have been recorded in the village.” – Bernama, January 5, 2021
