TAN Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his wife, Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, cast their votes at the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sri Muar polling centre today.
The Bersatu president said he hopes the voter turnout will exceed 70 per cent despite heavy rain hitting several districts this morning.
"Many have returned from Kuala Lumpur to vote. So in my view, even though it is raining, I hope the turnout will be quite high, not less than 70 per cent.
"What is important is that voters can fulfil their respective responsibilities, and after this process is completed, Johor will have a new state government," he said.
Former Education Minister, Dr Maszlee Malik, finished, meanwhile, voted at Tuan Poon Chinese National School (SJKC), Simpang Renggam.
The Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Puteri Wangsa State Legislative Assembly (DUN) arrived at the polling station at 8.52 am before finishing his vote at 8.58 am.
When met, he said he hoped that the democratic process this time would run smoothly and orderly.
“I voted safely in the Machap State Legislative Assembly, and will go to Puteri Wangsa to inspect the situation there. Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly,” he said.
He also hoped that more voters would come out to fulfil their respective responsibilities because every vote is important, especially for Pakatan Harapan. – July 11, 2026
