PARTI Orang Asli Malaysia (ASLI) candidate Dayana Dan, 40, said that though she was nervous, the support from 18 tribes who were present to support her made her more enthusiastic.

The mother of three said she arrived at the nomination centre at the Jempol District and Land Office Main Hall at 7.35 am.

"It was heartwarming when supporters from all over the peninsula came to show their support.

"I am contesting because I feel that the Jeram Padang state constituency needs to have a representative from among the Orang Asli.

"If I am allowed to be a representative, my service will not only be for the Orang Asli community but also for all other races in the Jeram Padang state constituency," she said when met.

Dayana said that several issues in the Jeram state constituency, including roads, house repairs, and water pollution issues, are among her focus.

She said she had never thought of becoming a candidate before, but that the opportunity given would be used to present herself to the community.

Apart from ASLI, Barisan Nasional (BN), BERSATU, and Pakatan Harapan (PH) are among those fielding candidates in the Jeram Padang state constituency. – July 18, 2026
