PRN Negeri Sembilan: BN + PN = PBN, says Hamzah

The label was introduced to make it easier for people to understand the cooperation between the two coalitions, besides avoiding confusion when mentioning PN and BN separately.

PARTI Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) President, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, said the understanding between the Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election (PRN) will be labelled as the Perikatan Barisan Nasional (PBN).

He said the label was introduced to make it easier for people to understand the cooperation between the two coalitions, besides avoiding confusion when mentioning PN and BN separately.

"We are labelling this so people are not confused anymore. In Negeri Sembilan, we are starting with Perikatan Barisan Nasional (PBN) because many people are saying PN, BN, PN, BN.

"I said, okay, PBN. What is important is not the name, but the spirit behind it, so we can together determine the future of Negeri Sembilan," he said last night.

Hamzah said PN had agreed from the beginning to give way to BN to lead the state administration if it formed a government.

"In Negeri Sembilan, PN had agreed from the beginning for BN to lead it with us, so there is no problem," he said.

He said the understanding was also to ease the differences that had previously occurred between the two coalitions.

"People indeed have feelings of disappointment over things that happened in the past, but all of that can be resolved when we sit down and discuss.

"That is why we met earlier so that from now on, everyone can work hard and ensure that voters understand what we want to do for the future of Negeri Sembilan," he said.

Commenting on the possibility of PBN being officially registered, Hamzah said it was still too early to decide.

"I just released this tonight. I will meet with my friends first, and we will see how it goes," he said. – July 22, 2026
