OUTGOING Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay has reminded members of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) not to compromise the force’s reputation for personal gain or financial rewards.
He stressed that every officer and personnel must continue to uphold integrity and honour the trust placed in them, saying these values remained the foundation of a respected police institution.
“Do not damage this force simply because of personal interests. Do not sell your dignity for money.
“Do not misuse your authority to oppress the weak, and never forget that behind every power we hold are people who expect justice,” he said.
Ayob Khan was speaking at the handover ceremony for the Deputy Inspector-General of Police post held at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol), Kuala Lumpur, today.
He said integrity was not measured when a person was being praised, but when their actions were carried out without anyone watching.
He reminded PDRM personnel that every responsibility and authority entrusted to them would be subject to accountability, not only in this world but also before Allah.
“People may not see. Your superiors may not know. But Allah SWT is always watching. The angels Raqib and Atid are always recording.
“Every trust will be questioned. Every power will be accounted for,” he said.
During the ceremony, Ayob Khan handed over his duties as Deputy Inspector-General of Police to Datuk Seri Ibrahim Darus, who will assume the role in an acting capacity effective Sunday.
The ceremony was witnessed by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail.
Ayob Khan was appointed to the position on June 23, 2023, replacing Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, who was promoted as Inspector-General of Police.
Born on July 27, 1966, in Kota Setar, Kedah, Ayob Khan holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
Throughout his career, he has held various positions at the state and police contingent levels. – July 26, 2026
