SSM’s new corporate system clears 70,000 transactions as authorities tackle early disruptions
More than 70,000 transactions have been successfully processed through the Companies Commission of Malaysia’s new Corporate Registration System since its July launch - August 18, 2026

THE Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) has processed more than 70,000 transactions through its new Corporate Registration System (CRS), signalling progress in the platform’s rollout as authorities continue efforts to resolve early disruptions affecting businesses.

Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Minister Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh said the Ministry, through SSM, remained committed to addressing challenges faced by the business community following the introduction of the large-scale digital platform.

The CRS is a major transformation of SSM’s corporate registration services, involving the integration of multiple legacy systems, business processes and existing services, as well as the migration of corporate records into a single digital ecosystem.

Its first phase began on July 14, covering company-related services previously provided through MyCoID, e-Secretary and various statutory lodgement services under the previous system.

Subsequent phases are expected to be introduced progressively until the end of the year, covering sole proprietorships, conventional partnerships, businesses and limited liability partnerships (LLPs).

Once fully implemented, CRS will bring SSM’s corporate registration services together under a more integrated, modern and user-centred digital platform.

The Ministry acknowledged that the initial implementation had encountered challenges, particularly involving system performance and user experience, prompting feedback from businesses and other stakeholders reliant on SSM services for registration, filing and corporate transactions.

SSM is now carrying out continuous stabilisation and optimisation measures to address the issues.

The complexity of the transformation includes integrating multiple systems and business processes, particularly transactions involving changes to corporate information such as registered addresses, directors and other company details requiring the reconciliation of existing data and records.

SSM has mobilised an intensive recovery and stabilisation programme involving technical teams, system developers, database specialists and infrastructure experts.

The effort is supported by intensive system monitoring, scheduled maintenance and ongoing technical upgrades designed to improve system stability and the user experience.

SSM is also updating its frequently asked questions, user manuals and system guides, while providing customer support channels, engagement sessions with the business community and reference materials through its official website.

To reduce the impact of the transition on businesses, SSM has introduced measures including automatic exemptions from late lodgement fees for filings through CRS and the Malaysia Business Reporting System (MBRS).

Extensions have also been granted for statutory lodgement periods involving selected transactions.

The measures are intended to ensure users are not penalised for delays arising from the transition and stabilisation of the new system.

As at August 10, more than 70,000 transactions had successfully been processed through CRS.

SSM said the figure, achieved in less than a month since the system became operational, demonstrated that the platform had begun actively supporting corporate transactions while stabilisation and enhancement work continued.

The CRS is the latest stage in SSM’s digital transformation, following the introduction of platforms including MyCoID, EzBiz Online, MyLLP and the Malaysia Business Reporting System (MBRS), before SSM4U was introduced as a single gateway for online services.

CRS is intended to take that transformation further by consolidating corporate registration services within a more integrated digital ecosystem.

The scale of the undertaking is reflected in the number of entities under SSM’s regulatory oversight, comprising more than 718,000 active companies, 1.7 million active businesses and 40,000 active limited liability partnerships.

The Ministry said this made an efficient, secure and resilient corporate registration system increasingly critical to Malaysia’s business environment.

It also stressed that digital transformation could not be separated from public trust, governance and data integrity.

A faster and more modern system, it said, must simultaneously maintain high standards of security, data accuracy and reliability.

KPDN said it supported SSM’s continued efforts to stabilise CRS and strengthen the platform in response to user feedback, while thanking the business community for its patience and cooperation during the transition.

Improvements will continue progressively and in phases, with the ultimate aim of creating a corporate registration ecosystem that is modern, secure, efficient, resilient and centred on users.

The Ministry expressed confidence that continued system improvements, sustained engagement with the business community and SSM’s commitment to resolving emerging issues would position CRS as an important catalyst for corporate digitalisation and Malaysia’s wider digital economy. - August 18, 2026
