MINISTER in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh has denied signing a purported house-arrest order involving former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak that has gone viral on social media.

Yeoh said the Pardons Board had yet to meet to consider the matter and urged the public not to circulate the document, which she described as fake.

“I never signed a house-arrest order as is currently circulating on social media. The Pardons Board has yet to meet. Please do not circulate this fake document,” she said in a statement posted on her Facebook page.

She said her press secretary had lodged a report with the authorities over the circulation of the document.

A (fake) letter purportedly bearing Yeoh’s signature had earlier gone viral on social media.

The denial comes amid renewed attention on Najib’s pardon application following reports that the Federal Territories Pardons Board is expected to meet again today, a week after the matter was deferred at its Sept 11 meeting.

The reports claimed that Najib’s pardon application would be the sole item on the agenda.

On Sept 11, the Federal Territories Pardons Board, chaired by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, deferred Najib’s pardon application to its next meeting. - September 18, 2026
