KUALA LUMPUR – Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin is the latest cabinet member to test positive for Covid-19.

In a statement today, the ministry said Hamzah underwent testing yesterday.

He will observe quarantine and be closely monitored by the Health Ministry, it said.

“During his treatment and quarantine period, Datuk Seri Hamzah will continue to oversee his ministry, to ensure all ministry matters run smoothly, from time to time.

“Those in close contact with him from January 8 to 11 are asked to go to screening centres at their respective district health offices to get tested.”

Hamzah’s diagnosis comes after Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun yesterday confirmed her positive test, and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed did the same over the weekend.

Rina has been admitted to Selangor’s Sg Buloh Hospital, while Mustapa is being treated at Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital in Kota Baru. – The Vibes, January 12, 2021
