KUALA LUMPUR – DAP Paloh assemblyman Sheikh Omar Ali has tested positive for Covid-19, revealing the information via his Facebook account.

He said today that he received the positive result after being screened recently.

Sharing a screengrab of his real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (rRT – PCR) test, Sheikh Omar said he went to the Kluang district health office at 11.30am today after feeling unwell yesterday.

“Just now a doctor had called me to inform (me) of the swab test results. Regretfully, I was confirmed +ve (for) Covid-19.

“I wish to apologise to all. Pray I and my family will recover and be safe.”

He added that he will receive treatment according to the suggestions and guidance of the hospital.

At press time, the posting received more than 400 likes and 156 comments from followers who wished Sheikh Omar a speedy recovery.

Johor has become one of the states with the highest number of infections in recent weeks with 1,068 cases recorded today. – The Vibes, February 21, 2021
