KUALA LUMPUR – Dine-in restrictions have been lifted nationwide, with the two-per-table ruling no longer in force.
However, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today said the number of customers depends on the size of the table, and patrons must keep 1m from one another.
The limit on two people per car in movement control order (MCO) areas has been lifted, he said, and vehicles are allowed to have passengers according to their original capacity.
Meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions are permitted at 50% capacity in conditional MCO (CMCO) and recovery MCO (RMCO) areas, but remain barred in places under the MCO.
Social events in indoor spaces are allowed at 50% capacity in CMCO and RMCO areas, so long as social distancing is observed.
Akad nikah ceremonies in MCO areas are allowed in religious offices and mosques, with up to 20 people in attendance, while in CMCO areas, such events are allowed at 50% capacity, and in RMCO areas, so long as social distancing is in place.
Ismail Sabri said tourism and cultural activities involving travel between MCO and CMCO areas are not permitted, but allowed in CMCO areas at 50% capacity, and as long as there is social distancing in RMCO areas.
He said the Education Ministry is expected to make an announcement on the resumption of school and other related activities, including classes at tuition centres.
“The Youth and Sports Ministry, and National Unity Ministry will make their own announcements soon on changes to several SOPs and restrictions.
“There are a few things that were discussed and decided today. Let the relevant ministries announce them.”
Meanwhile, the enhanced MCO in Kg Sebako 1 and 2 in Lundu, Sarawak, will end tomorrow, while that imposed on SM Sultan Idris Shah 2 in Gerik, Perak, has been extended to March 1. – The Vibes, February 18, 2021
